Well Rowdy was just super today! It was his first day at 20 minutes and he was very happy. He wanted to do extended trot so bad! He's really getting back into nicely, which makes me so happy!
Soon we will be back in action!!!

ups and downs....

Rowdy's conditioning is going well, and he's now ok to be gradually put back into training...thank goodness!!
We have been trotting, trotting, trotting. On Sunday I think I will do some canter with him as well. For the most part he is a happy camper, but will be even happier when he can do tricks again!! I think he misses having a job! It frustrates him!! Well, don't play so hard little Rowdy!!!! At least he's back to normal :D On a nicer note, at least I am still in good form for my riding. And let me say that no matter how much you do in your lifetime, Passage and Piaffe NEVER get old. I am so thankful that I have gotten the chance to ride fantastic horses! How great!
In other news, school is going well, and we a bit more than halfway into the semester. I go back to Nebraska in 2 weeks for the NDA Awards banquet which always is a good time. Still don't have a place to stay...but will figure it out soon!
Until next time

A much overdue update :D

Well, I haven't written in this blog forEVER!! but I can just write 4 words that express how my summer went...
I LOVE MY HORSE!
Rowdy was fantastic all summer....first with the st. louis show, competing at I-1 for the first time Rowdy and I pulled out a 67%. the next day: a 68%, and the last day a 69% and qualified for the champs...... What a Boy!!!!! :D

Next we were off to Waterloo where it was a fun and easier show....We showed our first I-1 freestyle, and the PSG again. We were also trying to qualify for champs in the freestyle and the psg. First day the freestyle: 66% and first place, second day was psg: 67% and placed second, (we beat George Williams btw :D), and the third day was also the freestyle: 67% and first place, all the goals were accomplished. I just needed one more score to qualify for the I-1 freestyle

Last show before champs was Traverse City. First day we showed the psg for practice: the judge was very very difficult and Rowdy was VERY spooky resulting in a 60%, a bit more schooling and a day later we showed the freestyle: WON the class with a 70%!!!!!! now we were all qualified for champs in the PSG, I-1, AND I-1 freestyle! the next day was bit like the first, resulting in a 63% for the I-1, and the last day we were competing in the $2000 freestyle class, in front of an "O" judge. after a mistake on my behalf, we ended up third with a 65%.

Brad also asked me if I wanted to be the "test" rider at the eventing cdi at richland park.....and so we did....it was a fun experience! rowdy was fairly well behaved for having to hop out of the trailer and go "show" :D he's maturing!!!

Champs were just a couple of weeks ago...and they were great. We competed and won the midwest i-1 freestyle with a 70%, Won the GAIG/USDF i1 freestyle with a 67% and was reserve in the psg and the i-1 after a couple of very hard and a bit frustrating warm-ups....but overall, Rowdy was super!

We were also chosed to ride in the Debbie McDonald Symposium held at Albion College!!!
Brad, Bailey, Melanie and I all rode and had a great time! We learned lots!!!!

Now onto the present, we are currently the Reserve champions for I-1 in the Junior/Young Rider division with an average score of 67%! and are ranked pretty highly in other standings as well...

Onto next year, hoping (crosses fingers) for I-2....but we shall see.....if he's not ready, he's not ready. He WILL tell me when he's ready...i have no doubt!

Rowdy and I had a great summer!!! Most importantly, we just had fun.....which was my goal after doing Young Rider's last year....

I can't say this enough!!!
WHAT A GREAT YEAR!
